Unfortunately, I don't think Sharon or Bush or anyone else of importance will care about these demonstrations. Short of changing Israeli leadership, I don't see what else could be done. : (
Leaders won't care, but public opinion will. Also, this time it coincided with "march to gush katif" in israel by about 40,000 people, with huge media exposure and advocacy effect. From my perspective our rally was to lend moral support to the people in israeli demonstration. If it didn't help, they better let us know :)
All the moral support in the world won't help when Israeli police blocks the way to keep the demonstrators from going. In the end, it's the practical result that counts, and I'm pretty pessimistic. *sigh*
yeah... eventually it's up to them.
But don't be too pessimistic. Not all is bad. I doubt Sharon will be able to carry his plan out. Protestors won't even have to get to Gush Katif. Wherever they will be stoped they will draw as much manpower as if they were there. In the end it will be a game of numbers and determination, and nothing else will matter.
