From Sudan... on Boing 747

Remember the Sudanese "olim" I talked about in my previous post? Turns out they also arrive through Ben Gurion airport. The money for the high-tech travel comes from United Nations. Hey, maybe after we finish building the Palestinian state we can grant sovereignty to freedom loving people of Sudan. Somewhere in Ramat Gan.

: ( Again, why am I not surprised. The latest developments in Israel -from the comptroller's feud with Olmert, to the latest ridiculous fake police targetting of a right-wing activist strike me as so farcical that I really don't want to read the news anymore. What's the point??? Can you honestly tell me what is the point of following of Israeli politics if there's no hope of change at all, and things are only getting progressively worse in all directions?

I guess the point of reading news shouldn't be "reading good news". The point is to understand what is happening, and who are the bad guys. Because the good news can only be created by people who are not afraid to read the bad ones. Otherwise one turns into a well-intentioned ignoramus. "Liberal" in plain English.

Well, I don't expect good news all the time. But I do expect reactions to the bad news, and some kind of change.
